Duluth News Tribune (MN) - Thursday, December 27, 2007

Marilyn Shirley Krenzen, 74, of Duluth, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 at the Solvay Hospice House, surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born Sept. 29, 1933 in Minneapolis to Louis and Minnie (Rose) Langfus. She was a graduate of North High School. Marilyn married Jack Krenzen on June 15, 1952. Marilyn was employed at General Mills and was nursery school teacher at the former B'nai Abraham Synagogue. In 1971 the family moved to Duluth and purchased what is now Krenzen Auto Mall. She was member of Temple Israel and volunteered at St. Luke's and the Miller Dwan Gift Shop. Marilyn's true passion was raising her three sons and five grandchildren. She never missed a concert, recital or sporting event the grandchildren participated in. Marilyn is survived by her husband Jack; three sons, Steve, Howie (Lynn) and Scott (Kelly); her brother, Sam Langfus of Minneapolis; and her five grandchildren, Louis, Lyndsey, Mary, Lane, and Nolan. The family would like to thank Dr. James Krook for his heartfelt support and care over the years as well as the entire care team from the Solvay Hospice House. Their empathetic care offered a great peace and comfort for Marilyn and her family as she completed her life's journey. PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICE: Friday Dec. 28, in Temple Israel. Memorials are preferred to Miller Dwan Gift Shop or Solvay Hospice House. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home 218-727-3555.
